Colaba Beyond Heritage with Kheema Pao & Chai

Annnddddd we’re back after a year!! With our OG Colaba Beyond Heritage ft. Kheema Pao & Chai walk!

This time, we’re exploring Colaba, Beyond Heritage, the part of the city known for its shopping street and Gateway of India, but there's much more to it. The walk will be conducted by Conservation Architect Mallika Keer in the historic precinct of then Old woman’s island. 

The session will begin with a brief history about the city; we would continue with our walk, exploring the streets of Apollo bunder, Wellington estate and Colaba causeway. We talk about the history of the city, admiring and understanding the architecture of the buildings and discovering stories behind them. We shall also discuss the present day condition of the city’s architectural heritage and more about its conservation.

Beyond Heritage attempts to look at the city of Bombay, beyond the usual notion of heritage, by not just appreciating the monuments, but also acknowledging the everyday heritage of the city.

But the adventure doesn’t end there! After our enriching walk, we’ll gather at Cafe Olympia, where you can savour delicious Kheema Pao, Chai, and snacks while engaging in captivating conversations with fellow explorers, a perfect way to wrap up our day!
