Artist Kalwankar builds his figures through broad, angular shapes rather than through detailed modelling. Warm reds, ochres and muted greens merge with the bodies, making the figures feel almost part of the surrounding space. The intimacy of the pose comes through even with the fragmented, faceted treatment of the bodies.
