Bombay Beyond Fort
Be a tourist in your own city.
Join Conservation Architect Mallika Keer for a guided heritage walk around the historic Fort precinct of Mumbai, a neighbourhood shaped by centuries of trade, influence, and transformation. We will explore ‘Esplanade’, the precinct that developed after the fort walls were dismantled, tracing the city’s evolution through its built fabric.
This walk invites you to observe the city differently: not just through history, but through architecture. Together, we will learn about architectural styles and details while uncovering the stories they carry. Along the way, we will also reflect on the present condition of Mumbai’s architectural heritage and the ongoing conversations around its conservation.
Our session begins with a brief introduction to the city’s history, followed by a guided route through the precinct.
Duration: Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours
Every attendant will receive a souvenir from Beyond Heritage!
